Who We Are

Dear Fellow Marketeers,
I spent over 20 years in sales and marketing in the corporate world … from start-ups to mid-sized companies to giant corporations. When I left a 9 to 5 job and started networking with entrepreneurs or other marketers, I found myself thinking “I wish they could know everything that I know … it would save them a lot of time and money.”

And, so, I founded Mad Marketeer. I wanted to share my many years of experience and expertise with you to make your job easier. We work either as your "virtual marketing department" or as an extension of your own marketing team. We guide you through the maze of marketing possibilities to help you know when, where and how to spend your marketing budget. We are where you go for marketing ideas and solutions.

Most importantly, we share our vast creativity and love of marketing with you. We sincerely hope we can help you with your success!

About Katharine Coles, Founder

Katharine is a marketeer, branding expert, author and entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in high-tech, association, Internet, non-profit, health care and entrepreneurial organizations. She is owner of Mad Marketeer, an agency created to provide “Corporate Quality at Small Business/Nonprofit Prices” to small to mid-sized businesses and nonprofits. She is also co-author of "Leading Partners: How Men and Women Lead Differently and How We Can Work Together" with Michael Gurian, a leading author on gender diversity.

Previously, Katharine worked as VP of Marketing for Women in Technology International (WITI). In her career, Katharine has developed and implemented marketing programs and PR campaigns for start-up/small, mid, and large organizations including MCI, Stratus Computer, Cerenade, the Gurian Institute, and NaviPath – a CMGI company.

She has also been ardently committed to “giving back” throughout her life and has served as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), advocating for abused children in Northern Virginia; mentored inner-city children from Stand High Stand United in Boston, MA; served on the Boards of P.S. I Love You Foundation and Access Executive Network; and currently serves on the Board of Golden Heart Ranch, a nonprofit dedicated to building a "life center" residential community for special needs young adults. She earned her MBA from George Washington University and a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Virginia.

About Our Interns
Danielle is working with Mad Marketeer because she would like to acquire the skills and knowledge to further develop her career in the business world and gain more in-depth expertise into the marketing world. Danielle joins us from Michigan!

Shota will be working with us to create Public Relation and media driven campaigns for our clients. Shota has been living in Illinois and will be with us here in California before he heads back to Japan.

Supatsinee is busy with competitive analysis projects for Mad Marketeer. She is particularly interested in practicing her analytical abilities, especially in the area of conducting business online, as well as developing consulting skills. She's a virtual Intern and joins us from Thailand!

Tarvi is an invaluable jack-of-all-trades, helping us with website set up and training, research, building tools, and creating programs. Tarvi is a virtual Intern, from Estonia and currently living in Denmark, with plans to come to California in January 2008.
